Description: WWII Era US Navy USN Mark 2 Knife w/USN Leather Scabbard - Blade Marked: Camillus - RARE 1st Pattern "Screw Butt" - Very NICE Condition Up for sale is a WWII Era Original US Navy USN Mark 2 Fighting Knife w/USN Leather Scabbard. The knife has a Stacked Leather Washer handle with a Blued Blade. This is the RARE 1st Pattern with the "Screw Butt". This knife is used, see photo's for condition. No nicks or chips in the blade. No rust or pitting on the blade. The blade has evidence of sharpening, light scratches on the blade. The knife is marked on the Blade: USN on one side, and Camillus N.Y. on the other side. The leather handle is in Very Nice Condition. The leather is soft and supple. The leather has darkened, but it still hast that rich dark brown color. No cracks or breaks in the leather, just the normal handling marks you would expect from a knife of this vintage. There are a few specks of paint splatted on the handle and scabbard. The guard has a slight wiggle. The Leather scabbard is Original and correct for the 1st pattern knife. The scabbard is USN marked. The leather is soft and supple. Some wrinkling of the leather on the upper and wear on the edges of the belt loop area, see photos. It is in Very NICE Condition. This knife is used, please see photos for condition. This is a Very Nice Example of a WWII USN Mark 2 Fighting Knife. If you see M.H. Coles Book's "Best of US Military Knives, Bayonets & Machetes" page 118, #1.
