Description: Rockford Watch Co. 18 Size 14K Yellow Gold Full Hunter Pocket Watch ca. 1882. This antique Rockford model 4, 15 jewel, 18 size pocket watch has a stunning solid 14k yellow gold case measuring approximately 53mm in diameter x 3 inches long including bow. The case is engraved with detailing that includes guilloche, foliage, flowers and a coin edge. One side depicts a small village with a house, while the other is stamped with a monogram that appears to include a K and B. The case is in excellent condition with a very light patina and minimal wear. The front, back and dust cover hinges open, close and secure properly. The inside front cover is stamped "466919" and is engraved "To Our Son Jacob K. Barret Sept. 16, 2022 Love, Mom & Dad". The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals, blue diamond hands, a double sunk seconds register at six o'clock and is marked "Simon Straus Belleville, Illinois". The dial is in great condition with no hairlines and very minimal aging. The crystal is in great condition. The inside back cover is stamped "B.W.C.Co. 466919". with a haystack hallmark indicating 14k gold. The inside dust cover is stamped "466919". The nickel movement is stamped "R.W.Co. Rockford Ill - Patent Pinion - 143772". All screws and jewels appear to be in great condition. Stem wind, lever set. This watch is running approximately 2 - 3 minutes fast per 24 hours.
