Rare 70’s 18k Solid Gold Stepped Cartier Tank Watch Co-Signed Alexis Barthelay

Description: Here we have an absolutely beautiful and incredibly rare vintage Cartier with a Co-Singed Alexis Barthelay moment. Stepped Tank in solid 18K yellow gold w/ factory 18K gold buckle and new genuine alligator strap. La Maison Barthelay, founded in Paris since 1932 were especially known for creating exquisite jewelry designs and very fine timepieces using exceptional gemstones along with very innovative and exotic materials. They were prominently showcased by many of the worlds finest jewelers of the famed Place Vendome in Paris. Among the many retailers that featured their designs, both Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels sold Alexis Barthelay designs under their own names as part of a collaborative venture. Circa 1975 with a beautiful engraving on the back. “I Love you Big E. The DragonLady 12.25.75” the case of this watch measures 25mm W x 35mm L x 7.3mm thick. Though the service history is unknown the watch has been running for over 24 hours and seeming to keep good time. It could be worn as is, but I would recommend a professional service for more accurate timekeeping. I have included a new burgundy Brown genuine alligator strap w/ trademark 18K solid gold Cartier signed buckle. I have also thrown in a black genuine, leather alligator print strap. It’s hard to get exact information on these vintage Cartier pieces but. From what I can tell, the case and dial are made both by Cartier while the movement is a ETA based movement signed by Alexis Barthelay, signed A. Barthelay for short. The buckle are signed and hallmarked Cartier. The vintage white dial features black radially applied and elongated Roman numerals, rectangular stepped case, snap on case-back, black sceptered steel hands and trademark cabochon set crown. Most of these exceedingly rare watches have already been sold by auction houses worldwide, most notably Christies, Sotheby's & Bonhams.
