Description: For auction is a piece of art pottery made by the Peters and Reed Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The shape is a hanging planter vase and it is done in the ever popular "Moss Aztec" line of art pottery. The planter measures 5 1/8" in diameter and 2 1/4" tall. The top measures 3 5/8" outside and 2 7/8" inside diameter. The planter has a squat circular shape with a raise top opening. It has 4 buttressed style handles that rise up from the waist and attach to the top lip evenly. You can see tiny holes under the arch for an S hook to fit into with jack chain to hang from a hook or nail. The planter displays an embossed floral pattern on a vine that surrounds the vase at its mid section with the pattern above and below the center line. This is set against a terra cotta background glaze with moss green highlights. The green is most prevalent in the low areas of the flowers and along the buttressed handles. There is a waterproofing glaze on the interior so you can actually use it.The vase is considered to be in very good to excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The vase shows minor signs of use. This piece is signed with the Zanesville impressed mark that reads "Zaneware" made in USA and it is guaranteed to be vintage Peters and Reed from the Moss Aztec line of art pottery. This line of Pottery is well documented.Peters and Reed Pottery (1897-1919) was bought out in 1920 and the name was changed to Zane Pottery of Zanesville, Ohio. They still produced some of the same styles as Peters and Reed. They changed from red clay to white clay products in 1926. Frank Ferrell designed this line for Peters and Reed. He was employed there from 1906-1918. In 1918 he left Peters and Reed to work for Roseville Pottery. The piece was made circa 1910-1915. PLEASE READ BELOW I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
