Hood Latch Adjustments Carbon Creations hoods typically require repositioning the hood latch to ensure proper alignment and closure. This involves carefully adjusting the latch, making small tweaks to move it up/down or forward/back until the striker catches securely. Given that carbon fiber hoods may have slight variations or warping, additional fitting, such as enlarging mounting holes or using shims, is often required for proper alignment. Adjustments to or removal of hood bump stops may also be necessary for proper fitment. Hood Accessories: Scoops and Other Modifications Carbon Creations also offers various hood accessories, including scoops, which can enhance the performance and appearance of your vehicle. Attaching a hood scoop typically requires drilling holes in the hood for mounting, as well as using bolts or adhesive, depending on the style of the scoop. When installing hood scoops on carbon fiber hoods, it may be necessary to add fiberglass reinforcement around the mounting area to ensure the scoop is securely fastened and properly aligned. Careful measurement and fitting are essential to prevent leaks and to maintain the structural integrity of the hood. For optimal results, Carbon Creations strongly recommends professional installation by a custom shop experienced in handling carbon fiber components and hood accessories, as traditional auto repair shops may lack the necessary expertise for these modifications.
