I.E. the donor vehicle has a different engine (2.5 -> 3.0) or (auto -> manual). I will flash the most up-to-date ZUSB software and VIN match the donor ECU to that of your choosing. The EWS module can be thought of as a "smart-relay" where the RFID chip in your key has a unique rolling code sequence that must align with the rolling code sequence in your EWS module, that then sends a signal to you ECU to start your car. It sounds great in practice and was...20 years ago. As with all things, time degrades and fatigues causing no-start conditions. A EWS delete is perfect for those who want to eliminate the headache that EWS can become when it fails but is also needed when swapping engines to different chassis. M54 EWS MODULES: You do not need to remove the module from the car. You MUST unplug the module and jump the starter wires (pins #1 & #2) on the female plug that connects the car to the EWS module. The preferred method of closing the circuit is to use a 30AMP+ Maxi Fuse.
