Description: This Apple Lisa 2 computer is complete with original accessories, manuals, and packaging. It is working and passes self-test. Has 1 MB RAM installed, a quite large amount in 1983 — the IBM PC was released with 16 KB RAM. Boots to Mac OS 6 from its internal 10 MB Widget hard drive. Last month, I ran a few applications on it, all successfully. It has the correct model and memory option codes on it, A6S0200 and A6S0204. This computer came with MacWorks Plus by Sun Remarketing, from where I purchased it almost certainly in 1989. It has the square Macintosh pixels installed. It was later upgraded to MacWorks Plus II with the 16 MHz 68000 XLerator from Sun Remarketing, so it runs a lot faster than a regular Apple Lisa or Lisa 2. The computer comes also with the rare Apple Lisa mouse which is fully functional, and with its original box. Most Apple Lisas are being sold with an Apple Macintosh mouse instead. The Lisa 2 Owner's Guide with binder and slip case is included, as well as the user guides for MacWorks, MacWorks Plus, MacWorks Plus II, Lisa/XL SCSI Card, and Parallel Interface Card. All are original. This Lisa has the main box that it came in from Sun Remarketing. The Lisa model code related stamp on the box and one of its labels indicate its origin from Apple. The diagonal stripes on the screen photographs are not seen on the display itself; that is how the digital camera captured it. The photograph with the scientific plot on the display was taken with a film camera years ago. All other photographs are from within the last three weeks. After inspecting the skins of the computer (borrowing SGI terminology), the only obvious damage that I detected is a scratch at the top right corner of the screen, as depicted in the photographs. I suspect that it happened probably while removing, for the purpose of installing it on a newer computer, the EM radiation filter that was being used with this computer. In the photograph with the data plot, you can see the filter attached on this Lisa. The computer was used in a smoke-free environment and was later placed in storage in a climate-controlled facility for a couple decades before it was rebooted a few weeks ago. As I never anticipated this computer to be a collectible, I did not store it wrapped airtight, thus it has on its skins approximately 40 years of chemical deposits from the atmospheric exposure. I presume that to obtain their best look humanly possible now, the skins can be professionally cleaned with solvents not harmful to their plastics or logos. Museums or auction houses may provide references for specialists for such service. Its electronics should be professionally cleaned, as it is probably quite dusty inside. Prior to its electronic parts being thoroughly cleaned, I do not recommend running it more than 15-20 minutes at a time. I did not open it after taking it out from storage. Its floppy drive was functional the last time it was used. It is untested now; I could not locate any of the floppies that came with the computer. The floppy drive probably needs to be cleaned and lubricated. Even if it does not work, it can be easily replaced. I presume that it is the model made by SONY, as used in many Lisas and Macintoshes. Also untested are the ports, except those for the keyboard and mouse, of the computer, the two included expansion cards which are the original Apple Parallel Interface Card and the Sun Remarketing Lisa/XL SCSI Card, and the original Apple serial cable for connecting to a Apple LaserWriter, etc. Again, all of them were functional the last time they were used. The keyboard with electro-mechanics from Keytronic, a USA company, needs some of its key contacts serviced. This is a frequent age-related issue with Keytronic keyboard electro-mechanics which are common units; hundreds of thousands of them have been manufactured. Businesses to service such keyboard electro-mechanics and DIY service kits are available readily. I did not open the keyboard but left it all original inside. It has its original box. The computer and its accessories are to be shipped with their original packaging as delivered it to me originally from Sun Remarketing which was in Utah. Shipping to lower 48 states only
