ITEM DETAILS Title: The Life and Travels of Mungo Park With the Account of His Death from the Journal of Isaaco, the Substance of the Later Discoveries Relative to His Lamented Fate, and the Termination of the NigerAuthor: Anonymous Publisher: Harper & Brothers, PublishersPublication Date: 1854Edition: Harper’s Family Library Condition: Good ITEM DESCRIPTION Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on Mungo Park and African exploration! A great find from a local New England estate! This antique volume is over 169 years old! In nice condition overall! Originally published in 1840, this is a later Family Library edition by Harper & Brothers. Original publisher cloth binding shows some rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, some general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and fraying and loss to the spine extremes, and some soiling and spotting to the page edges. Otherwise this is a well-preserved antique volume! The gilt title lettering displays nicely from the shelf. Internally, this volume is in good shape overall. Both boards and all page groupings remain attached to the binding. There are no bookplates, signatures, inscriptions or library markings to note. The text block of this volume is clean overall. There is typical age-related toning to the pages, light soiling and moderate foxing scattered throughout, as well as some gentle corner creasing and page wrinkling, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings. Perfectly readable throughout! Nicely illustrated. Make sure to see the additional photographs in the description below. 248 pages.
