Description: Just when I thought I had reached the end of Dad's mineral collection I found yet another box of specimens when we did the final clean out of his garage. The specimens in this box look like they were given to, or purchased by, my father and were awaiting the time when he would either add them to his collection or trade them for others at his local gem and mineral club events. Most of the stones in the box had rather rough labels. This particular box seemed to be one that had some of the teaching tools Dad would use in his classes, but I don't think that has any impact on what these items are. They could easily just have been put in the nearest box when he was packing up stuff. This lot of 10 mineral specimens was in a box inside this latest collection of items. I just couldn't face measuring each and every piece, especially with some of them being in tiny vials. The two pieces (in vials) that were labeled were Thomsonite and Chabazite. The rest had no labels. Some look familiar to me, but I'm not hazarding a guess on what they actually are. With his PhD in mineralogy, my father loved to collect rocks. He took great pride in his mineral collection which he carefully organized by chemical groups. Since he recently passed away I'm tasked with finding his treasures a new home. Just so you know, I do send all the tags that he had with each mineral because they tell a story of the travels of the specimen. If they were with Dad's specimen I included them but you may have to look at the very bottom of the box to find them. I have added one of Dad's identification tags with what little information I have on the specimen in case you want to continue to seek out the scientific data and add it to the tag. I still have loads of rocks and rough material to re-home so I'll be posting more of my father's rock collections (rough material, cut stones, pendants, mineral specimens, and other rock related items) off and on for months so do make my store one of your favorites and check in often to see what new items are listed. I try to list new items for auction every Tuesday. I will gladly combine shipping for purchases made on the same day. If you win more than one auction please request an invoice so I can adjust the shipping costs before you pay, although I've tried to set it up so the weights of the items will determine the final cost of postage. Due to my one day shipping policy I cannot hold items for you to have me ship later, so try to buy what you want on the same day - that way I can get you the best shipping costs possible. Thanks!
